We’re thrilled to introduce the dynamic leadership team at Clarendale Clayton, where our Executive Director and Director of Sales and Marketing work together, along with talented and dedicated team members to create a vibrant, welcoming environment for all residents.

Both leaders bring a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to their roles, ensuring that Clarendale Clayton stands out as a premier senior living community in the Saint Louis area. Join us as we dive into conversations with each of them to learn more about their unique backgrounds, inspirations, and the exciting vision they have for our community.

Let’s start with the person leading the charge at Clarendale Clayton: Ted Fronczak, Executive Director. With a rich background in service and a deep commitment to senior care, he’s a driving force behind the community’s success. Let’s dive into our conversation with him to learn more about his journey and vision for our community.

Ted’s dedication to service runs deep. From military and healthcare roles, his journey reflects a true commitment to enhancing lives. He said, “I have had a career of service, serving my country in the Navy, serving my community by working in healthcare, and now serving seniors that live at Clarendale Clayton. It was actually my wife who inspired me to explore senior living as a career path.”

As Executive Director, Ted takes careful measures to foster a sense of community and belonging among residents and staff. “Our Life Enrichment team does a wonderful job of creating activities that foster culture throughout Clarendale Clayton. From out-of-town excursions to karaoke night in Lake Forest Terrace, seniors are able to have fun living their best lives,” he said.

Ted also leads the community by attentively listening and noticing the small day-to-day details, ensuring the best quality of life and care for residents. “We work hard each day to provide a high level of service at Clarendale Clayton. By listening to others and paying attention to the details, we try to provide an unparalleled level of service for our seniors.”

One way Ted keeps the lines of communication open at the community is by attending resident council meetings. “I meet with the resident council monthly to hear committee reports and better understand what can or should be done. I then share this information with the leadership team to execute plans to improve the lives of our seniors,” he said.

Ted continued, “Our residents are well-cultured and extremely sophisticated. We recently brought a piano into the dining room to enhance their dining experience and be played by several residents who have the expertise. The piano has been a wonderful addition to the community.”

Looking ahead, Ted is focused on ensuring Clarendale Clayton stands out by prioritizing resident feedback and creating memorable experiences. “Our goal is to make Clarendale Clayton the premier senior living community in the Saint Louis area. We will do this by listening to our residents and offering them the opportunity to create awesome memories as they explore everything the community has to offer.”

Next up, we’re excited to introduce you to the dynamic Director of Sales and Marketing at Clarendale Clayton, Maggie Mundwiller. With a wealth of experience and a passion for community building, she plays a key role in shaping our vibrant environment.

Maggie’s career in senior living has been both extensive and impactful, marked by a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of residents. Reflecting on her journey, she shared, “I am a long-time local and nationwide senior living salesperson. I have over 16 years of experience in the field. I began my journey shortly after graduating college as a move-in coordinator and have since held various key roles, including residency counselor, sales and marketing director, area sales director, and national sales trainer.

“Now a proud member of the Clarendale Clayton team, I am eager to leverage my expertise and passion to enhance the lives of residents and foster a supportive community environment.”

Maggie’s decision to join Clarendale Clayton was influenced by her dedication to quality senior living and her respect for the community’s values. She explained, “I chose to join Clarendale Clayton, in part, because of its parent company, LCS, which boasts a rich history and extensive network in the senior living industry.

As the third-largest senior living provider in the nation, with over 50 years of experience and more than 150 communities, LCS and Clarendale Clayton provide exceptional support for both residents and employees. This aligns perfectly with my commitment to quality senior living and a strong sense of community.”

Her deep roots in the area also play a significant role in her commitment to the community. Maggie added, “As a lifelong St. Louis resident, I love the Clayton neighborhood and appreciate everything it offers to those who live in the area. My connection to the community and understanding of its unique benefits make me especially passionate about contributing to the well-being and quality of life of the residents at Clarendale Clayton.”

When seniors are considering a move, Maggie emphasizes how the community provides opportunities for residents to make meaningful connections and to feel a genuine sense of belonging. “I want them to know that Clarendale Clayton offers an elegant and sophisticated environment, where the beauty goes far beyond aesthetics. Our vibrant sense of community is the heart of our residence, creating a welcoming atmosphere where relationships flourish, and residents truly feel at home,” she said.

Maggie explained three unique qualities that make Clarendale Clayton stand out for seniors. She said, “Clarendale has a diverse and vibrant community. Our resident population is uniquely diverse, creating a rich and dynamic environment that enhances daily living and social connections.

We offer spacious and affordable living. We offer some of the largest apartments in the area, providing residents with comfortable and luxurious living spaces that are surprisingly affordable. Many people think that because we are located in Clayton, our prices may not be within reach. I would encourage them to inquire if they are curious.

They might be surprised to discover that we are competitive with other senior living communities in the area. We are also a rental community, so we do not have the large buy-in, like many local communities. Just a one-time community fee!”

Her third quality is the community’s innovative and engaging programs. “Our community activities are designed to inspire and engage, featuring everything from curated overnight excursions and TED-style talks to creative workshops like fabric dyeing with flowers from our Life Enrichment Director’s garden. These events reflect our commitment to offering enriching experiences that cater to a wide range of interests.

In short, Clarendale Clayton is not just a place to live – it's a community where residents can thrive in an environment that supports their passions and interests.”

This philosophy drives her dedication to creating meaningful experiences for everyone at Clarendale Clayton. When asked about a successful event she’s particularly proud of, Maggie shared her enthusiasm for a unique upcoming initiative.

“I’m excited to collaborate closely with our Life Enrichment team and residents to create events that truly resonate with our community. One event I’m particularly looking forward to is an upcoming panel where our residents will share their personal moving experiences and stories about the transition to a senior living community.

This event not only provides valuable insights for those considering a move to Clarendale Clayton but also fosters a sense of connection and support among our current residents. It’s a meaningful way to highlight the warmth and community spirit that defines our community,” she said.

Clarendale’s Clayton close-knit community sparks Maggie’s creativity when planning marketing and event initiatives. Maggie said, “I am deeply inspired by the sense of community that we cultivate at Clarendale Clayton. Knowing that our marketing and event initiatives can create meaningful connections and enrich the lives of both current and potential residents drives my passion. Each event and campaign is an opportunity to build a stronger, more vibrant community where everyone feels valued and supported.”

Engagement is all about connection, and Maggie loves spending time chatting with everyone – from residents to potential newcomers.“Conversation and communication are at the heart of everything when it comes to relationships. You’ll often find me spending time chatting with coworkers, residents, and potential residents. Just don’t let my boss know how much time I spend talking,” she said.
